I take every chance I can get to visit the ocean. It happens to be the only thing missing from Colorado’s landscape… Apart from the mountains, the ocean is the only place that calms and inspires me at the same time. My husband and I got the opportunity to work in Orlando and tag on a few days of vacation afterwards. So we hopped in our little sub-compact rental car and hit as many beaches as we could from Cocoa Beach down to the keys and back up to Miami beach. Each one was different in its own right but that feeling was still present. I always thought I should’ve been a mermaid…Enjoy.

Just like events in our life the ocean’s ebb and flow brings beautiful things in from the depths of the sea. We comb the beaches for shells and sand dollars, maybe even a message in a bottle carrying inside it the meaning of life.

Soon the water recedes, carrying it’s treasure back out to sea. It’s vast emptiness is anything but empty…

The waves come and go each leaving behind traces of their existence for a mere moment in time

The beauty of life is that splendor can be found in the small, the detailed and delicate

Or in the mighty, the powerful, the overwhelming.

Step back, take it all in, silently focusing and letting go at the same time.

Knowing that when the scene fades, the tide ebbs, life doesn’t seem totally fair…
The beauty is there, in front of you, waiting for you to take it in.

Hi, I’m Bri, the photographer. I am in love with the ocean and the mountain. I don’t like days that begin with an alarm and end in TV. For me photography is a way to express more than what is said with words. It is my freedom. I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark II and a GoPro. Lenses I used for these photos are 24 – 70 and 50mm.

    Sun sets a dimming view
for a gaze across the sea,
    Nonetheless to ponder
life’s ebb and flow to be,
    And I, a different journey
my ebb and flow at sea,
    So ebbs the dimming sunset
and ebbs the tide for me.
