Bending down to tie my shoe I caught a sliver of the moon settled in the western horizon.  A friendly smile amongst the stars as I pushed past street lights and fears.  My thoughts wander a bit too far if I sit dormant for too long.  “You think too much,” it’s something I’ve heard from enough friends not to believe.

The constant rhythm of cracks in the side walk turns my mind blank for awhile.   There’s a special meditation that happens when I skate alone at night.  I can’t describe it, and I don’t try for fear of losing the magic.

Out here I feel most at peace.  It’s where life makes a little more sense.  I enjoy good company and don’t usually look for ways to be alone.  But when I am, and the room is too quiet for too long, I go skateboard.

It just feels good!
